Francis S. Floyd

Francis S. Floyd, a civil trial lawyer in Washington, Oregon and Alaska since 1978, is the President of Floyd, Pflueger, Kearns, Nedderman & Gress, P.S., which he founded in 1991.

Francis’ practice emphasizes the defense of insureds and self-insureds in large loss, complex litigation in the Northwest. He has tried over 100 civil jury trials, defending serious personal injury, closed head/brain injury, wrongful death, employment, civil rights, construction accidents, defense of public and private schools, non-profits, counties and cities, copyright and trademark, pharmacies and medical devices, professional negligence, sexual abuse, commercial litigation, and catastrophic losses. He has been lead counsel in defending class action claims involving civil rights, personal injury, employment, intellectual property, and drug and pharmacy lawsuits.

Francis has an AV Peer Review rating in the Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected as a Washington Super Lawyer every year since 2004.

Francis is a member of all state and federal Washington and Alaska courts, the Ninth Circuit Court and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Northwest Indian Bar Association and admitted to practice in a number of Pacific Northwest tribal courts. He is also a member of the American Society of Pharmacy Law, Defense Research Institute and the Washington Council of School Attorneys.

Francis graduated with college honors, cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington in 1975, and Willamette University College of Law in 1978.

A lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, he enjoys fly fishing and mountain biking.
