Jay Simmons joined Floyd, Pflueger & Ringer as an Associate in June 2021. His practice focuses on general litigation and insurance defense. Prior to joining the firm, Jay practiced civil litigation and insurance defense at Simmons Sweeney Smith, where he litigated various first- and third-party civil defense matters.
In 2002, Jay graduated from Central College with his BA in Biology. Shortly thereafter he relocated to Seattle, and attended Seattle University School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2015. While at Seattle University, Jay was a member of Law Review, which published his law review article. During his third year of law school, he clerked for the Law Offices of Sweeney & Dietzler. He later joined that firm, then transitioned to Simmons Sweeney Smith.
Before attending Seattle University School of Law, Jay had a lengthy paralegal career, including over four years at a local insurance defense firm. His practice now focuses predominantly on insurance defense, including taking cases to trial and arbitration.
During his free time, Jay enjoys spending time with his family. He also likes visiting local breweries, wineries, and food trucks, as well as reading, home projects, being physically active, and supporting his favorite Midwest sports teams.
