Matthew J. McCauley joined Floyd, Pflueger & Ringer in May 2017. His practice focuses on the defense of physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers against claims of medical malpractice.
After law school, Matthew served as a Bailiff and Law Clerk to the Honorable Catherine Shaffer of the King County Superior Court. Before joining the firm, he practiced family law at S.L. Pitts PC where he represented clients in complex financial and parenting matters both in hearings and at trial.
Matthew graduated from the University of Washington in 2007 with a double major in International Studies and Japanese. During this time, he received a full one-year scholarship from the Japanese government to study language and economics in Japan at Nagasaki University. After graduation, Matthew worked in Japan for two years. He is fluent in the language.
After returning from Japan, Matthew received two law degrees from the University of Washington- a Juris Doctor in 2012 and a Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) in 2014.
Matthew lives with his wife and two children in Seattle. He enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and woodworking.
